As you know Nioh 2 features a game where a warrior in on a journey to hunt down supernatural creatures, this includes monsters, dead kings, Sumos. etc. So picking the right weapon from the start along with a guardian spirit will give you little advantage.
Spear - The spear is the best weapon in my opinion due to its high damage, flexibility, speed, and basically every traits of every other weapon type into one. Spear armor type honestly depends on you build but I like using Red demon Sanada crimson combination.
