Found this thread, took 5 minutes to find a 12v 3A wall wart in my stash, and boom, blinking lights went away and TiVo booted up just fine. Turned it on again 2 hours later and the screen is black and all the lights on the front panel are flashing rapidly. I have rebooted it several times and it comes up to the "TiVo" screen and then goes black. The TV says it is not connected to the source.

Wigohwt. As far as saving your old recordings, the 4 flashing lights are a bad sign that could mean the HDD is totally unusable. You could try connecting the HDD to a PC and see if Windows Disk Manager can "see" the drive, but don't initialize! Cancel any prompts.
