Tbh, I was expecting to need source blocks. I built the farm with 2 dripstones, one had the lava source above which was also flowing over the other dripstone. I was waiting for the first cauldron to fill so I had a second lava source to put above the second dripstone but both cauldrons had filled. I was pleasantly surprised.
