Gen 7 was also somehow the easiest gen to fit heat on; you never felt restricted in terms of team building because so much was viable. I'm willing to say that Gen 8 is in my opinion the worst modern competitive gen. It was so fucking stale and garbage, especially when clef shenanigans were running the tier.
