Did come across a video and it was awesome. If you plan on doing this job follow that video. Thank you to the original poster on this site for the link.
Iv never seen a 2.0, 2.2 or 2.4 ecotec pop a chain and not hit valves. Problem is going to be seejngnif they took out a piston or cylinder wall as well. You could tear it down and inspect the pistons and block, if they're fine you can throw a head on it. Get a new chain/tensioner/guides.
