There are two ATMs on the complex opposite the airport on St St Barths, that is where I get my Euros. SXM is in the Dutch side of St Maarten and as far as I can remember the ATMs distribute USD and NAFs, apart from one between the arrivals and departure areas which also give the options to get Euros.Hi, possibly look at Funtime. Baggage claim has been slow but it's a good time to. shift to island time. We have had problems in Charlotte, Cancun, Montreal and Miami. That's all great but we need to check out of our apartment at 10:00am on departure day and the flight is not until 17:00 from SXM. All incomming calls to SXM from US to a local rental cell phone are free to the receiver. Verizon only works on the Durtch side and runs around 1.29 a min. A lot of places I have been were great but once I was done with that trip I thought "that was great but that's enough of that". I am sure they do random checks and if they have reason to suspect drugs or weapons, but they don't really care if you bring in a pair of NIkes for a friend on the island. Leisure Car Rental is FANTASTIC! We reserved online in advance and they met us at the airport with our name on a board and with the car, ready to go. For aprox $450 we rented a medium size car with full insurance and $0 deductible for the entire week in St. Maarten! The car was brand new, with only 2,800 miles on it.
