Ram rotary shifter stuck in park.
I definitely noticed this on my 2014 Ram. If you are in a rush and go through the movements as described by Grayman5752 v ery quickly it would stay in "limbo" and show D on the shifter, but still be in neutral. On mine it would also prompt something on the dash cluster, like Vehicle not in park or something like that.

Whenever it starts getting cold, the truck likes to stick in park. It will start, runs fine, just won't go into gear. ONCE it does, it shifts just fine. Usually if I leave it sit for about 10 minutes, with the heater going, it slips right in with no problem. It has been suggested that it's the shifter cable.

We've owned our 2018 Max Limited for about 2.5 months, and twice have had the shift knob refuse to move out of park. Now, had this happened in our garage or a parking spot it would've been frustrating enough, but the occurrences have been 1.

The hole closest to the ignition is not a screw hole. grab a Philips screw driver or a metal rod, like ARC Welding Rod. Now press on the brake pedal.
