When it sits for about 1hr then i have to use starting fluid again. Theres lots of cranking power, brand new glow plugs, new fuel filter.

It will not set the same code for camshaft sensor error, that has its own set of codes for crankshaft errors. That was my 1st thought as well, but he said after it sits awhile it is hard to start. Normally injectors with high returns come into play when, say you shut truck off to refuel. The fuel is warm and flows easier and it wont restart. If you let truck sit a couple hour's and fuel cools down it fires right up.

When my CP3 was going out it actual fuel rail pressure would not match desired (it was maxing out around 14k when it was calling for 22kPSI). Started right up cold, would not start hot. No crank/no start.also, try and stay away from either. if you get desperate, use a small amount of gasoline, WD40 or something similar. much safer. bad CP3 can definitely leak fuel in to the return. pull the return on the CP3 and verify how much comes out when cranking. if it is too much it can rob the pumps ability to make pressure.
