As I said I don't use Tradovate, but basic data in CQG data in Ninjatrader is $12 a month, and it provides the main CME instruments, among many others. Either way, you are paying for market data. I suppose similar to the way that Samsung or Apple make phones, but the don't work without a carrier connection, which have separate contracts and fees.

Nothing compares to NinjaTrader's extensive ecosystem of custom indicators and development tools. There are cheaper platforms (SierraCharts) there are better DOM's (Jigsaw Daytradr), but NinjaTrader's advantage is the programming. Particularly when it comes to writing things that rely on order flow or depth of market analysis. C# is a memory hog.
