For my Google Voice Voicemail to work I went and looked at my carrier's website on how to activate "Forward missed calls" ((Star)71) . I activated the Forward Missed Calls to my Google Voice Number. This step made it seamless. Now when I get a call, if I swipe "go away" it goes directly to Google Voicemail.
