May 10, 2021 · I just bought a 2006 Honda Element EX-P AWD with 158k miles. Absolutely love the car but am dealing with the much elusive p2646 code. Already changed the oil, oil filter, oil sensor, and the entire VTEC solenoid (with the correct part straight from Honda), but the car keeps bucking at 3000 rpm. Based on your description, it sounds like your Element is in "limp" mode. My best guess is it will show either a P2646 or P2647 code; which means a problem with the VTEC system.
