Kawasaki kfx 50 problems.
Hello everyone. I'm a newbie here. I have had a kfx700 for a few years now with zero issues till now. I let it sit a year unused with gas in it and now nothing but issues. I took the carbs off and cleaned them as well as replaced the jet and gaskets. Also the valves got adjusted. The problem I'm having now is backfiring from the rear cylinder.
Welcome! Compression for these engines is only in the 50-75 psi range, due to it having an automatic compression release to make it start easier. It shouldn't be able to start with only 15 and 23 psi. The needle seat has a small screen and it was plugged only letting a small amout of fuel into the bowl.
