Astronium is actually found on all planets in Astroneer but it is very rare. You will need to dig deep into the ground, getting close to the planet's core in order to be able to find any of it. At the moment, there is currently no use for Astronium in crafting. It is only useful when it comes to researching for bytes.
Activate the central portal on sylva. You have to activate one of the surface portals first. Then you need to have the right mineral for that planet to activate the core - make you sure you have two, so you can take one Geometric Triptych back with you. The symbol is on the portal stone. Once I reach the core, I insert the materials and get the two geometric triptychs then activate the core. Once the core is activated I use it to teleport to the satellite and insert the second geometric triptych into it.
