I see the DCT as a non hydraulic automatic, the Rincons have torque converter, the Rubicon Honamatics are hydraulic pumps in reverse. DCT is actually not a new idea, first invented in the 1940's, developed in the 80's for racing, the first to hit the road were 2003 Volkswagens.

Almost immediately it started having shifting issues, flashing gear indicator. I told the dealer the issue and they had a look and said nothing is wrong. Turns out it had the software defect and the shift fork got damaged.I bought a 2020 Rubicon DCT and at about 500 miles started having shifting problems (5 long and 2 short dashes). I was studying up on the dual-clutch transmission because I am considering it for my new ATV next year. I have seen a few diagrams, and it appears that the function of the twin clutches come in to play during gear-to-gear shifts. When you come to a stop, there apparently is a third clutch that disengages power between the engine and driveline.

Remove the tires and hubs, remove the large axle nuts, unbolt and remove the rear brakes and brake panel (4 nuts), and knock the axle out the right side.
