I used EmuDeck to setup all emulators and their artwork / steam integration. In this process the AppImage variant (I think?) of yuzu was installed, instead of the typical one from the steamdeck package manager / app store. When in Desktop Mode, opening Yuzu from Steam, I tried to click "File > Open Yuzu Folder" to place my Key file. NSP is usually better since it's easier to install if you actually have a switch. They work the same on yuzu. XCI is a cartridge dump and NSP is the nintendo store file. There is no real difference between the 2 and yuzu can use both types.
