What I have seen on the xterra is the steering angle sensors out of adjust, this will turn on the lights. You will have to reset with the nissan scan tool, for center wheel adjustment setting. I have 2500 miles on it.... not sure what it is anyone experience this????

326 Posts. #221 · Mar 17, 2011. My VDC light and SLIP light were on, and the parking brake light was coming on randomly...took it to the dealer, they said my brake fluid was low. They topped it off and the lights have not come back. They also said they would order a new master cylinder because it is leaking, however I see no signs of leakage.Most alignment shops won't do this. If the steering angle sensor is way off, the VDC light will stay on and the system will not work at all. If it is only slightly off, it can confuse the computer. The VDC system uses input from the steering sensor, wheel speed sensors, and yaw rate/side/decel g sensor.

try and disconnect the pos battery cable for a bout 10 minutes and see if this resets it make sure you have radio code in case ur radio locks. SOURCE: My brake, slip and VDC indicators stay on. Check brake fluid level, add fluid from sealed container if needed. Also check for leaking rear axle seals.

Ok. It sounds like there is either a problem with one of the cam sensors or the crank sensor. If you have a problem or code for either of these sensors, it will cause the symptoms you have and also the VDC will be disabled. What I suggest doing is first, having the check engine light scanned for codes.
