I've been with Masterworks since early 2020. I have purchased 9 paintings and have had 3 sold all in 2022: George Condo, Monet, and recently Pierre Soulages. Keep in mind, I've been sitting on my paintings for 2 years and netted 31%, 9%, and 13% for each. I noticed with each sale, the funds distribution got better. Alvarez has slashed its fantastic Masterworks line (once again) and it now consists of 7 all-mahogany (sapele, I'm sure) models and two Spruce/Mahogany "bluegrass" dreadnoughts.Buying it for 9 and selling to investor for 9.5 is pretty much self dealing in my opinion, so they don’t care about investors , as they just made money for doing nothing. don't forget the 20% of the total of the sale.
