Lefever nitro special stock.
I have recently purchased a Lefever nitro boxlock (184xxx) that looks to be in good shape, although well used. I would like to do a thorough cleaning on the gun and want to know the best way to disassemble the action. I have carefully removed the stock for possible refinishing (it will probably never be a collector, just a shooter).

The hammer springs can be a real bear, without special tools,, If you insist on cleaning, remove the butt plate, loosen the stock bolt enough to let the stock wiggle. then remove the trigger plate and use air pressure to blow out the action, oil very lightly and reassemble..
