I was going for the Necrotic Grip last night doing the Legend Lost Sector. My engram inventory was full. I got three different exotic engrams that went to the postmaster but when I decrypted them they were boots instead of arms. The Master Lost Sector yesterday was dropping boots which is why I got three engrams that became boots.

I've had days where I've farmed for 2 hours and gotten 3 exotics and others where I've had 14. It's just RNG. The platinum thing is when you've killed all the champions. You should be aiming to get platinum everytime since it has the best rewards and more likely to get the exotic.
