Ive only seen one hacker in dayz in 4500 hrs of standalone, yet I hear many that say they have. Dunno what platform you’re on but I have never seen 1 in about 5k hours myself. To summarize, you can have a total of 2 characters on official servers - one for all 1PP and another one for all 3PP servers - and you will also have a separate char on each community server you join. As for consoles, AFAIK they can have multiple chars per server, but I have no experience with DayZ on consoles, so maybe someone else will chime ...
