The night was going well. Then as I was pulling into the restaurant, my phone was ringing with "DoorDash" as the caller ID.DoorDash drivers are becoming the latest scam targets. Any request via text for any of your account information is probably a scam. The scam, simply put, is that the customer picks up their own delivery order. The customer orders a delivery through door dash right outside the restraunt and puts a $0 tip so no actual drivers will pick up the order too quickly. DOORDASH DRIVER SCAM / BE AWARE. This just happened to me yesterday. I have been driving for DoorDash over a year now, never any problems or anything suspicious. Yesterday I received an order to pick up ONE SINGLE SUGAR PACKET from McDonald’s. (Thought this was very strange but it was a $6 delivery so I picked it up.Also, if the scammer tells you the customer name, the restaurant, the order details, and/or your name, it is because the customer sees all this info and the person trying to scam you is the customer for that order. If DD ever calls you, feel free to say you will call support back immediately and call them yourself.

After Driver 2 picks up the food, Driver 1 goes there for the pickup and the restaurant would supposedly have to make another batch of food because the first batch got stolen. Wham, bam, there's your scam.
