While last weekend’s rain didn’t help make ice, the ice did firm up with a couple of nights of colder weather early this week. There are still sketchy spots throughout the main lake, but certain areas are being fished or spear houses are being taken out. Fish that has been defrosted in the refrigerator will last for 1 to 2 days if kept in the refrigerator. If the fish is not cooked within 1 to 2 days, it can be safely refrozen. The...Hundreds of 16 1/2 – 16 7/8 inch fish came out of this area over the weekend. Lot’s of boats, but a great bite. Fish were in 7 1/2 feet of water. Plughat shoreline in front of the summer homes, Sattelites, and Bowens flats areas were all giving up fish. The fish were a little scattered and it was a mixed bag off of Plughat.As I stated in previous reports, the walleye fishing has a very bright future, starting now.
